LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis and is a common procedure performed with a laser. LASIK eye surgery permanently changes the shape of the cornea to eliminate the need for correction. LASIK is an FDA approved procedure.

The cornea helps to bend and focus light in order to create an image on the retina. This process of bending and focusing light is called refraction. LASIK surgery uses a computer-controlled laser to correct refractive errors by precisely removing small amounts of corneal tissue to allow the eye to focus properly.

Dr. Sonik will perform an initial exam to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK surgery. If you are a good LASIK surgery candidate, she will assist you with choosing the right LASIK surgeon based on your specific needs. After your surgery, Dr. Sonik and the vision professionals at Sonik Vision will provide post-operative exams and support.

Sonik Vision provides LASIK surgery co-management for adults in Houston, Bellaire, West University, Southside Place and the local community.
